Our Team

Tha Bawi

Pastoral Apprentice

Hi everyone, I’m Tha and a husband to Len. Len and I are originally from Myanmar, and Grand Rapids has been our adopted home since 2001. My wife and I have four children: Joshua, Mikayla, Eliora, and Amia. I am one of a few seminarians who does not enjoy reading theological books much. But I love music and enjoy writing and recording music a lot. I enjoy watching food and travel channels with my family in my free time. I love all kinds of sports. My favorite sport to watch is Football(soccer), especially my favorite team Arsenal.

Steve Germany

Worship and Technology Director

Hey! I’m Steve. Although I look like Pastor Steve, we’re not related. My wife Christa and I have five kids: Gus, Garrick, Ruby, Katie, and Holly. We’ve been a part of the Princeton family since 2021. Christa is a cardiac nurse and excellent seamstress who loves to make dresses for our three girls. The Germany family flies our nerd flag high. We play Dungeons & Dragons, board games, and Minecraft. I enjoy carving wooden spoons and bowls in my spare time while listening to audiobooks and podcasts. I love leading worship at Princeton and helping to point people to Jesus!

Julia Gho

Pastoral Apprentice

Hello everyone, my name is Julia Gho. I was born in the US but I pretty much grew up in Japan because my parents are CRCNA Resonate Global Missions missionaries in the Japan field. I am Korean. I enjoy cooking, reading and hiking. I have just started my MDiv. at Calvin Seminary. I look forward to my time at Princeton CRC!

Emily Hull

Connections Pastor

I’m a wife to Steve since 2007. I’m a mom to five: Peyton, Cohen, Ben, Elaina, and Harper. We started attending Princeton and also have been on staff since 2018. My kids will tell you I’m the softy of the two parents. You’ll find me cuddling on the couch or on the floor playing with my kids over cleaning most days. I love to read and I dabble at being crafty. On average, our household does about 10 loads of laundry a week. I love to fold clothes… but hate putting it away. I love being outside digging in the dirt and taking care of my plant-babies. However, I’m not very good at keeping houseplants alive.

Steve Hull

Lead Pastor

Hey everybody I’m Pastor Steve. My wife, Pastor Emily, and I have 5 kids, Peyton, Cohen, Ben & Elaina (our twins), and Harper. As a family we love to go camping and on other adventures. I enjoy smoking meat in my kamado grill, playing golf (though I’m not any good) or losing all sense of time with all kinds of projects. I’m from Wisconsin, which means I am considered a cheesehead and really enjoy watching the Packers.

Shelley Porter

Custodian

Phil and I have been working as part time custodians for about 4 years. I take care of most of the day to day tasks and Phil comes in to fix stuff and move the really heavy things. This is a part time job for us and we both have full time jobs. I work as a third and fourth grade teacher and Phil is a police officer. In our spare time we enjoy spending time with our two kids. Our daughter is married and lives in Texas, so we are always up for a trip to San Antonio.

Cindy Roth

Office Secretary

I’m the secretary here at Princeton.  I started working here in 2006  and have  seen many changes while here. Princeton is like a family to me and I so enjoy being around the people, being in the evening Bible study and helping out in other places. My husband, Dave, passed in 2019, we were married for 54 years.  We have two boys and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.  One son lives in Minneapolis and one in Ohio.  I go and visit them as much as I can.  My passion is painting and creating different things out of all types of material, wood, metal, antiques, etc.  I am involved in crafts shows and have been for years.  Going antiquing is one of my favorite pastimes also.

Cheryl VanderMolen

Kids Hope Director

Hello, my name is Cheryl VanderMolen. I am Director of Kids Hope USA where some of our church members mentor children at Brookwood Public School. I have 3 grown children, 2 grandchildren, and a grandson who is due to be born early November 2022. My husband is Bruce VanderMolen. We have been members at Princeton CRC since 1996. I have been involved with elementary youth as a teacher and enjoy Bible Study with our FISH group and a Zoom version with Lectio Devina.

Mindie Wiechel

Children’s Ministry Director

Hi I’m Mindie, wife to Matt and soccer mom and chauffeur to Juan, Logan, Levi and Landon. Matt is a better cook than I am, and we love to host friends and family at our house. I’m most often found with an AirPod in my ear, listinging to podcasts or audio books. I’m louder than I should be when cheering the boys on in soccer. I love watching college football (Go Bucks!) I’ve recently taken up golf, and am working on improving my game. We’ve been at Princeton since 2007, and love that it feels like family here.
