Living Worship - Loving Community

In September of 2011 Princeton began a year of worship renewal. Our goal for the year was to learn more about why we worship the way we do and ignite a passion for worship in the heart of each person. We focused on the Psalms and eight Vertical Habits or Worship Words., including Praise, Blessing, Gratitude, Petition, Illumination, Lament, Confession and serving. Together we learned more about these vertical habits through Sunday services, books, small groups, special speaker, and community meals and activities. Our learning also took us on a few interesting side trips such as the liturgical year, visual art and movement in worship. After a year of this focus, we realized how important this kind of intentional thinking and learning is to our worship.

This year we hope to continue learning together as we focus each month on one characteristic that God desires to see in our relationships with each other. We We begin this journey focusing on love, because what could be more central to our faith, or more important in our relationships with God and one another, and we end in April with "Peace", the shalom that we strive for in community.

Part of each service will be memorization a passage of scripture together as a congregation for each theme. We will also have a song of the month for each theme that reflects the topic for that month which we will sing weekly. See below for the complete list of monthly topics.

September - Love
