Helping the Homeless
One way we do this is as part of Interfaith Hospitality Network
Princeton Church has become involved in this unique type of ministry. Four times a year we open our facilities to homeless families, providing meals and overnight lodging for one week. Princeton volunteers provide the meals and evening activities for children, and also stay overnight to give support to the families and provide assistance in the case of an emergency. Princeton uses its meeting rooms as bedrooms and the IHN staff provides beds and linens. Families are brought to Princeton Church in time for supper, and each family is given its own bedroom. After breakfast the next morning, the families are picked up by IHN staff, and spend the day in training or job hunting.
There are many other opportunities to help in the greater Grand Rapids area. Please contact our office if you are interested in helping out the community
